First E-Mail Key to Successful Online Dating
You’ve gone through the many profiles on a dating site and you have finally selected someone that you find interesting and attractive. The next step is knowing how to write an online dating email.
The online dating email is equivalent to what you would say at a bar when you someone you are interested in comes over to talk. You wouldn’t say something formal and stiff like, ‘pleased to meet you sir.’ The same should apply to your email. You want to keep it fun, flirty, witty and light.
Online dating etiquette dictates most first contacts are made online and via email. The perfect first email would include introducing yourself and letting the man know why you are writing. Name similar traits or areas of common interest that you share and let him know why you would get along.
Keep it short, don’t press for a meeting and leave it open ended. The message you want to get across is that you find them interesting for this or that reason, you find them attractive for their hair or eyes or whatever you are into, and something about yourself you know they would like based on their profile.
You could say something like, ‘hi paul, we have a lot in common, I couldn’t resist writing you. I love Neil Diamond too and hiking. You have beautiful eyes by the way. Hope to hear from you and that you are having a great day!’. Light, cheerful and complimentary. The perfect first email.
