Is it True Love or Online Infatuation?
Sleepless in Anytown USA? Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks fell in love before they ever met via email. They never even spoke a word to each other. How did they know they were in love? Many stories have been told over the years of lovers who fall in love before ever meeting. People who traveled long distances to meet someone they believe they are in love with before ever laying eyes on each other. But does true love online really exist? And if so, how does it actually happen.
Online dating love proves the theory that love is not all about physical appearance. Love is about how a person makes you feel, a need they fulfill, and a friendship set ablaze with passion. Online dating love brings love back to the basics. True love online develops when the two people sharing it find something in the other that touches their hearts.
But what about the horror stories we hear where someone falls in love with a man online only to find that the man is nothing that she imagined. There are two sides to online dating love that need to be examined. You need to be realistic and very careful when opening up to a man you never met. You may fall into a false sense of comfort without the pressure of having to stand face to face, and may feel you can express yourself more freely. Through emails, chats and text messages you may feel the man to be very attentive to you whereas if they were living in reality that may not be the case. Safety precautions should be taken to make sure the man you are talking to is really who he says he is. Talk on the phone frequently, see if he has any other social networking sites that show him with friends and family, look at what others write to him and about him, Google him, and do anything you can to keep your head out of the clouds until you actually meet.
But does true love online really exist? Yes it does. There are couples who actually have met online and went on to marry and live happy lives. They were realistic and developed an online dating love based on who they really were. They were able to get to know each other on a very deep level before actually meeting and then when they did sparks flew as they knew they would. Love is a powerful emotion, not to be taken lightly, but when it’s there, it’s there and you can even find true love online.
